On some of the cars it is often difficult to use the original equipment “Pull-on” grease adapters. This “Push-on” Type grease adapter will work for most of those tight spots. This is not a Ferrari factory-issued tool, just one that I found and thought would be useful. Push-On Grease adapter.

The early inside plug cars often used drip trays under the carburetors to keep any leaked gasoline away from the center of the engine blcok and the spark plugs. These drip trays were connected by short pieces of clear plastic tubing to an aluminum tubing manifold then to a longer piece of clear hose which led down the rear of the engine around the bell housing. These pieces are made by the original craftsmen in Italy and are perfect. There is a good photograph of one of the drip trays being fitted to an engine in the Ferrari factory on page 61 of the wonderful book Modena Racing Memories. I looked and looked for correct Pirelli fan belts for my old 250 Cabriolet with no luck. Finally I made a silk screen jig and began silk screening modern belts with the correct old – style Pirelli information. My silk screen and jig can only do the long belts for the outside plug engines that had generators, and the very short belts that were used on the front mounted generators on inside plug 250 engines.Long Belts for the 250 Outside Plug Engines with Generators

The very early Ferraris had the exhaust system mounted solidly to the chassis. They later changed to a type of hanger with metal ends and flexible center section made of belting or truck tire sidewalls. The early ones were what are called the “Center-pull” design. In this configuration the four steel components are all the same design. These end pieces are all bent so that the force goes through the center of the assembly. This design was originally painted black until the mid 1950s when a change was made toa cadmium finish. Later, about 1962 during the run of the 250 GTEs the hanger design was changed to the more common “Side-Pull” arrangement. Black-Painted Center-Pull Exhaust Hangers…(24 to 28 per car)
